Frick on a brick on a stick - their here!!!! UPDATE WITH PICS!!!!!

STOP MUCKIN WITH THEM! DO NOT OPEN THE BATOR AGAIN UNTI THEY HAVE ALL HATCHED. Let Mother Nature do her thing. Go to the pub and have a pint, no make that ten pints, come home and pass out. When you sober and and wake up you will have a mess of fuzzy butts. If you don't drink, go fishing.

Things are progressing... A second pip is a good thing.. I wouldnt suggest trying to increase humidity agian as they seem to be slowing doing what they should.

Congrats on the second pip...It may still be at least 24 hours before they do finally hatch....

ok im chaining myself to the wall!! to keep me from going near it..... so is it ok for them to pip then not do ANYTHING for 12 hours!!!!! GAHHHHH!!!!! i guess im just too impatient - i feel like going and doing the zip for them, dont worry i WILL NOT open the bator then as u wish or ill prob kill them...... but it will not suffocate in there?????????? i suck at lockdown time..

Dont you unzip those babies...You cant give an egg a caesarian. The blood and yolk have to have time to absorb properly.

I love hearing peeps from inside the bator..Thats why I put my hatcher next to my bed...They even wake me up inthe middle of the night sometimes.

ok ill go to the pub then......... the first egg seams to be trying to break the membrane but it cant!?!?!?............. hurry up babies!!!!!!!!!! ill go eat easter eggs instead........ How is the quail eggs?!?!

Make sure that you have ventilation in there and they will be ok. Do you still have water droplets on the window? They won't drown at this point, but you might hyperventilate watching them

I had a homemade incubator and I could reach through my vent holes with bamboo skewers and touch the eggs. I could roll them a little bit and they would chirp. That is how I could check if they were alive when I got really nervous. I know, that is cheating, but it made me feel better.

ok so i just recovered from passing out..... their ok but NO more has happened!!!!!! GAHHHHHH!!!!!!! the first one that pipped like 24 hours ago still hasnt even broken the membrane, altho the other chick is working hard with little progress.... should i increase the humidity????? No more pips yet but should i help the first one to break a little in the membrane coz i dont want it to suffocate........ *inserts biting on nails smiley*

If the shell is broken- the membrane should have at least a tiny hole in it..Leave it til the morning I think... I have sometimes found the first one to pip is not the first to hatch. My quail who pipped yesterday hasnt done anything more in 24 hours either.. I wouldnt help it at all until any other one has at least fully hatched- otherwise it may be helping too early.
