Friendliest clean legged bantam?

Welcome to BYC! Japanese bantams would be a great choice. They are cute and friendly (and clean legged too). Orpington and OEGB would be another option, but they may not be as friendly.

I'm glad you joined our "flock!"

In particular, I recommend Wyandotte bantams. They are cute, fluffy birds that generally are docile, productive, and hardy in various weather conditions. They are also relatively common and easy to find. I also enjoy my Dutch bantams, since they are pretty and very sweet. However, Dutch bantams are somewhat rare, and it might be hard to find them in your area.

Other good clean-legged bantam choices include Orpingtons, Australorps, D'Anvers, Plymouth Rocks, and Modern Game. I wouldn't recommend Old English Game, since that breed tends to be flighty and not the greatest for kids. Sebrights can be a little delicate, but otherwise, they would probably work well.

Of course, there are also feather-legged bantams. Several feather legged bantams that make excellent pets include Cochins and Silkies. Those breeds are adorable and gentle, though they aren't very productive egg layers.
