I'm curious what all these "Other" votes are for... Anconas? Campbells? Is it specified somewhere? Most of the more popular breeds seem to be represented in the list, so I'm curious what all is included there.

For me, it's my mixed breeds. But I also think that it just depends on what kind of relationship you build with your ducks. I haven't had any of the breeds listed, but one of my other most friendly ducks is an Australian Spotted drake. He was a lone hatch so I raised him alone and he is by far the best drake I have. That's why I voted for other.

I don't think it's a specific breed, they probably are on the list they cannot just say one, i know i cannot, i own 3 breeds, not one at the end of the day with the right level of commitment makes a better pet than another, there are so many variables, i believe that is why most are saying 'other' vs saying one breed.

I think Cayugas are GORGEOUS. It took me a while to really decide between Cayugas, Magpies, and Welsh Harlequins. In the end, WHs won it for me based on their high egg laying ratings, plus the fact that they're relatively quiet, calm ducks who are good with non-threatening dogs. My WHs have no problems going around my Akita mix when he's lying down(standing up is a whole other story, but he's still in training anyways).
