My 5 girls are 19 weeks old so I’ve been checking their coop and run everyday waiting for eggs! But two nights ago I noticed a lot of blood under their roosting bar. We cleaned it up and the next morning, same thing. I’ve inspected each girls comb, wings, vents, everything and I don’t see one spec of blood and they’re all acting completely normal. So I have no idea who it’s coming from. I bought corid to start treating them tonight, but could it possibly be worms? Should I be treating them with something else? This is my first time raising chickens so I have no idea what to do.

Yes, worms can also cause blood in droppings. But I would treat them with Corid in the water, and give wormer as well orally at the same time. Dosage of Corid is 2 tsp of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder in each gallon of water changed every day for 5-7 days. For worming, I recommend Vabazen 1/2 ml orally on day one and ten. Or use 10% fenbendazole in SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer 1/4 ml per pound given for 5 consecutive days. Try to see who might be having the blood in the dropping as well in case something else is happening.

I’m on day 3 of corid and they seem sooo much better! No more blood in their poop. One of my girls started to look a little droopy and she’s back to her perky self! Thanks for the advice!
That's good to know! :highfive:

Keep us updated - hopefully they all recover with no more complications.

You can give them a boost of extra vitamins AFTER the Corid protocol is completed. :)
