I am looking to buy some ducklings, but I have neighbors and they get upset easily. So I'm looking for a breed of duck that will be quiet. I've read in posts that males are more quiet, so I'm getting males. But I also want my ducks to be friendly. So, if you could pleasee give me some information about some of your favorite ducks to breed, or ducks that are known for being quiet, or friendly; and pictures would be nice aswell

Thankkss!

Muscovies are vest for these situations but if you dont like the carnucles then Cayugas or swedes.

The Muscovies can be extremely friendly family ducks when handled from hatchlings. They are also really quiet and come in all colors. So you can pick your favorite colors without haveing to stick to just one shade.

My Cayuga girl rarely ever talks. Never had drakes though. Same with swedes - but the opposite. Ive had a Drake but never a duck and he was the BEST SWEETEST duck ever.

Also I think Runners are good. I have a male that talks alot and im not sure about the females but I think Ive heard that somewhere.

I agree Muscovies are quiet and very friendly. I think you will be asking for trouble if you just get boys....hormone issues. The muscovy girls are very quiet they would not be loud enough to bother even the pickiest neighbor. I would say get a trio, a drake and 2 hens

All I can say is definitely MUSCOVIES. Search for a color that suits your fancy. Friendly and quiet and wag their tail like a dog! My favorite urban duck. Best to pinion them when they are a day old.

Like everyone else has said, go for muscovies, they are know as the quackless duck, as they dont make a noise at all, they are very friendly, can become very very tame and come in brilliant colours.
