Friendly pheasants?

Can someone share their experience with each of the pheasant species, and tell me which is the firendliest? I want to get some pheasants, but I don't want a bird that will chase me around the yard, or threaten to bite whenever I get near it.

This is a old post but I wanted to post as I know for a fact that pheasant make great pets having raised them for over 25 years.
Ive owned/own Tragopans,Impeyans,Red Goldens,Reeves,Ringnecks,Lady Amherst and silvers so this is the only breeds I can for sure tell you about. I have had ones from each breed that would jump up on my lap and eat out of my hand.Ive also had some birds that would not let you get within 10 feet of them.Like any animal you will get out whay you put into them.If you dont spend anytime with them,dump some water in a bowl and fill up there feed dish, they will never tame down although some like tragopnas seem to be way more pron to be tame,my last ones were more tame than most of my chickens and then there are some birds that are just plain crazy nothing you can do about it,lol
Pheasants do make excellent pets but keep in mind that they are indiviudals.I had silvers that were nice as can be would follow you around then pen I had others that would slam into the wire trying to attack you,lol So your best bet is to pick one breed you like and if there mean nasty flighty guys,try some of the same breed from a different breeder.Best bet I would say on the cheap side would be Red Goldens,expensive side Tragopans.
Get eggs or chicks adults can be tamed but its easier with chicks. Ive never had a flighty or mean Red Golden.Tamest pheasants ive ever owned were Goldens, Ringnecks, Reeves and Traopans. Also keep in mind they live a very long time.

No, I do not want a twenty pound bird with two-inch spurs sitting in my lap.

I'm not looking for a bird to cuddle and hug necessarily, I just don't want a bird that will be deathly afraid of me, nor do I want one will hiss and peck whenever I come near. Thank you all for your input.

Hey man i raise ring neck pheasants and the best way to bond with an adult bird is to put blinders on it and just handle it and like hold it and love on it becuase it will quickly learn that you aren’t gonna hurt it and it will start to like you and if you call it by its name if you have one for it by the third day it will recognize its name and not be as scared of you and if you just keep working with it it will start to like you and miss you when you are gone they are very intelligent birds and pick up on that stuff very fast

Friendly as in will they take food from your hand, or let you rub them, or let you get close to them.

For me the pheasants that let me rub them are Lady amherst, Temmnicks tragopan, and silvers

The one that take food from me are Yellow goldens, Silvers, and Reeves

The ones that let me get close up are Monals, Reds, Blue eared, Koklass .

Are Impeyans good?

Impeyans are great birds. I like to hear their call in the breeding season.They love to dig so you need fencing all around the bottom outside of your cage as you should for all your birds to keep predators out.

Someday... if I ever get to retire, I'll own pheasants as many as I can... I've always wanted Chinese Ringnecks.

They can be as all birds can be given the proper care.All birds love to get treats and that is the best way to tame them.When they see you coming,they will be waiting at the door trying to get their treats.
