That poor Min Pin

My dd wants me to dress Audrey up for Halloween this year. You know those costumes they have for dogs? Ya in one of those.
And dont you think that I am not going to do it AND bring her to the local Petco AGAIN to have her picture taken.
When the economy tumbles further me and mine, wont be hungry.

Oh I know how you feel! I like what Chickenmaven said about free spirit!! My FIL actually referred to me as the Crazy Chicken lady. So I named our little "operation" The Crazy Coop! If this is what Crazy is, I ll take it. To heck with them! Happy Chicken Mama , my DH gets that too. He just says, well the happier she is the easier my life is!!

My family cracked up when I told them I was going to have chickens. I still get cute/funny gifts at Christmas, but they all seem eager to listen to all the egg info I've learned.

I can't fault them for their amusement. If I told myself 10 years ago that I'd be raising chickens, I'd laugh at myself.

People who mock my chickens don't get eggs. I just ignore people who make fun of me for my birds. In general, they are losers anyway. Just more people who never made it out of the 7th grade mentality. If it weren't chickens, it would be something else. Just another form of bullying. Bullies are people who don't feel good about themselves so they have to put other people down. Losers.

It's strange that people feel the need to call us "crazy". I don't think its crazy at all, people have many different kinds of pets, some I think are much stranger!

Its funny, my 10y/o daughter gets picked on about her being a chicken lover, but she takes it all with a grain of salt. We'll all just keep being our chicken crazy selves, huh?

I'm so glad I posted this! Most of the people that poke fun do it in good humor, it just got to me this morning at work. (Darn cops!) I appreciate all the stories, it definitely helped my attitude today!

If anyone had told me even six months ago that I would be raising chickens I would have laughed. The others are just jealous because they don't know... I didn't, and now look at me!

Thanks again!

My family thinks I'm nuts for getting the chickens gifts and bringing them the leftovers from our habachi dinner last night, but I don't care. There's nothing wrong with having unnatural bonds with feathered humans haha

People don't realize that a couple of generations ago almost everyone kept a backyard flock for eggs and occasional meat. I do know my Grandmother hated butchering chickens so much she refused to eat it! Never met her unfortunately, she died at 42 years of age.
