I'm so glad you're happy with them and they are healthy.
I found one baby (looked silkie) in the bottom of the coop
when "the great birth spasm" (as my kids call it) started.
I think that one was my fault because I miscounted the days til they were due
and there was no water or food in there.

I have to agree with your husband about brooding them outdoors...
I much prefer the momma hens doing all the work, I hate to come home from
work and the house smells like chicken butt.

That's why I'm re-creating my broody flock - so I can hatch as often as I have a broody (which was constantly with 10 Silkie hens) and they do all the work (great - since I'm going to be busy myself soon) and they can stay at the barn (which will make my husband happy - he's not thrilled with the heat lamp shining day and night either.)

I covered the floor of the rabbit cage with hay to keep their little feet from falling through the rabbit wire and it's working really well - it stays dry since there's air flow from below, no dust and no splayed legs. Most of the poop and dropped feed works it's way out, so it stays pretty clean.

Thanks, Boo! It was quite a shock, but always a happy one. I can't keep the news to myself because my other 3 kids know and they're telling everyone!

I have Holland Lops and one (mixed) American Fuzzy Lop. Some of my Hollands are show quality with pedigrees and some are pet quality without pedigrees. I used to have New Zealand Whites for meat, but I sold those not long after I found out I was pregnant. I know I'm not going to want to deal with the butchering while I'm pregnant or while I have a new baby. I'll probably keep all my Hollands - they don't eat nearly as much and the kids love them.

I'd definately choose practical and safe over flashy. A 4-door hybrid with excellent crash test ratings?

My Mom's Jetta is a good car...450 miles to a tank and it only holds 15 or 16 gallons...

I would too, but the boss has something in mind to impress clients with. It's a surprise bonus so.....

Is she married????? Because if you want a truly evil idea, I have one.

Send her flowers - from her husband -

The card should read

Wanda, thank you for the most incredible night of my life

I'm going to assume her name is not Wanda.

Sit back and enjoy the fireworks
