Yes dear, I was remarking on how you managed to make it to 40 without ever frying chicken.

Try 48. I amaze myself sometimes.

Yes, but you look 35, so I wasn't going to guess the correct year.

you weren't there when i tried to call.

and so my old doggy was put down on friday.... it was brilliantly aganozing, sad, gut wrenching and beautiful...she went really peacefully but I will miss her so.

I aslo had to cull my dd's 1st grade class "special" chick dd named "Lucky" on thurs. OH WHAT a WRETCHED experiance!!! I flubbed it up and it was a nightmare. I did get a hold of ranchie who gave me some words from Opa about how to do the process....wish I would have called BEFORE i did the deed.

gotta go take care of my mama in a few... she's in pain from her shoulder and it makes me wonder of course about her heart... I did take her in to the ER on thurs....man, what week. I'm taking her again tomorrow if it's not better. poor mom.

now off to find info on chicken boots and chicken braces....seems this farm town's school has lost it's roots and no one in that school knows a danged thing about chickens except me. sigh....I made a chicken boot for one chick.... now off to see how long to leave it on and how to fashion a brace for a spraddle leg one in another class.... I don't know how it's gonna go.... sigh sigh... big sigh...

g waves at everyone.... danged 4 year old is on the floor in the library laying behind me telling me she's hungry.... kids, always hungry and wanting to go home....

Well, you WERE wrong. You should have spent $80!

I think $40 was the most I'd ever spent on a dozen hatching eggs. I refuse to add up the total amount I spent last year on hatching eggs.

This year, I've spent a total of $20. Although, I still need to track down some Showgirl eggs for my Ella girl. I'm cutting back on chickens because of my pregnancy, but a promise is a promise, so I have to get those Showgirls. And I promised to test hatch some of CityGirl's eggs. I have to keep my promises, right?

We had to put down my old dog last summer. I had him longer than the husband and kids and it was such a gut-wrenching experience to have him put down. Taz always slept in my son's bed, so he was especially upset at losing his buddy.

Hope your mom's okay. I know you and her need each other right now.

$40 for 24 eggs. seemed reasonable, it inc. shipping. Sadly on day 20 the bator wiring went wonky and a heat spike baked them in the shell. 2 Days before they candled just fine, with movement.
