I think $40 was the most I'd ever spent on a dozen hatching eggs. I refuse to add up the total amount I spent last year on hatching eggs.
This year, I've spent a total of $20. Although, I still need to track down some Showgirl eggs for my Ella girl. I'm cutting back on chickens because of my pregnancy, but a promise is a promise, so I have to get those Showgirls. And I promised to test hatch some of CityGirl's eggs. I have to keep my promises, right?
$40 for 24 eggs. seemed reasonable, it inc. shipping. Sadly on day 20 the bator wiring went wonky and a heat spike baked them in the shell. 2 Days before they candled just fine, with movement.
Were those your Seramas?
I'm down to a single pair of Seramas: Sampson and Delilah. I keep trying to hatch everything they lay and so far, I have 1 little chick. I think Delilah just went broody, which would be perfect because I just set some eggs in the incubator, so she can raise whatever she hatches and whatever I hatch.
