The 2010 Gold Nugget Triathlon has been run.

It was AWESOME!!!!! I caught up with Cereal Girl at about midway through the run (the last leg of the journey) good thing she slowed down to wait for me.

I feel great and finished about 10 minutes over my target time. 500 yd swim, 13 mile bike and 5K run.

Cereal Girl was kind enough to wait for me (She got out of the pool 15 minutes or so before I got in) and then walk with me. We walked arm in arm, sang songs, skipped and even dance about while we were walking. I did run the last few hundred yard. Nic even met me about 400 yds out and ran with me on her gimpy leg for about 100 yds.

I have some of the most amazing kids, who else would run a TRIATHLON just so I didn't have to do it alone (not counting the other 1516 other women of course)

Afterwards, all I had to do was add water, and I was fully recovered.

Awesome day!!!

I find out the official time tomorrow night. Somewhere around 2:10 unless they add a time penalty for Nic running with me, but I'll take that very happily.

I found a horse last night on the way home, wandering aimlessly alongside the road. It was around 9:30 or so. Boyd suggested I call the sheriff, so I called my friend instead. Of course, he was off duty, so I told him I would just go knock on a couple of doors. There was a house about 1/2 mile up the road, and another a bit further up on the other side.

I then proceeded to get a 45 minute lecture from him as to why I should not be knocking on stranger's doors, alone, in the dark.

Come on, It's IOWA, not LA.....

Anywho, Donnie ended up (reluctantly) coming out (by now it was raining) and helped me locate the greatful owner, who just so happened NOT to be a crazy axe murderer, and brought a halter down and took the horse. She was a sweet buckskin mare.



Diesel did not approve of the horse smell when I got home
