Friends Welcome

Boyd, whatever it is that you did in earlier years that made you who you are now, well, it made you very capable of doing so well with all those kids now. You have an understanding and are able to help and nurture them.

How silly of you, Boyd! You really thought I couldn't drive after this:

I think my dog may have just been skunked... again! Something smells like skunk and it ain't me. Hopefully the smell is just outside, but she's in her kennel right now.
Worst part? I'm not allowed to bathe her because she just had a tumor in her mammary gland removed on Thursday.

The test comes back in a couple of days if it was benign or malignant.

They all seem to get sick at the same time. My cat was just put down a month ago right after chicken Tejas died, and now the dog is sick. I'm hoping nothing goes wrong with my horses...

x2!

And editing my last post: I guess something already did go wrong with the horses earlier this summer when Ranger got his lip bit off. Our vet is awesome and, since I shadowed her that Friday to get hours for the medical academy, pretty much halved the price.

Ok yep, definitely skunked. Just gave her a sponge bath with dawn and vinegar in two stages. Dragged her kennel outside and what do I see? That darn skunk rooting around by our light pole. I've seen bob cats, foxes, skunks, and coyotes all by that light pole. I blame the bugs. Bugs are never up to any good, getting eaten and things. I told the skunk to get out of town or I'd shoot it. It bounced off and I shook the gun at it's tail.

I didn't want to shoot it, since that would stinky mess in the morning!

Skunks are stinky!!

I have not been getting many eggs. Just one egg a day for two days. None today.
I have 13 chickens. 3 of them live in the stall. Sometimes when the others are free ranging, they will go into the chicken pen. Well, I found all the chickens in the pen at once so I closed the gate. All chickens locked up for a few days now. So, I guess between molting and they are probably stressed, they are not giving me eggs.
Bad girls.
But those two baby chickies should learn to sleep in the pen, cuz when they get egg laying age, I want the eggs in the nest boxes, not under the barn where I can not get them.

Whats new?

well 4H and my teen group start this week, and im dying my hair red tomorrow. other than that, nothing interesting is happening. You?

Hi! I've been pretty busy this past week....My friend is on vacation, so I'm feeding her horses, chickens, and dog. So today I'm there at the barn and I went to feed her colt, Caspian. I dump the feed in and something tells me to stay there for a second. Well, when he eats, it looks like he doesn't chew his food, it just falls out the sides of his mouth....So I'm standing there thinking, 'does this horse have teeth?' Well....I stick my finger in his mouth and.....It was a very stupid thing for me to do that, because my finger hurts now.

You didn't think to feel outside of his mouth first?
