Cotton's baby laid an egg!
I'm pretty sure it is hers because it is bantam size egg and brown. Cotton lays white eggs.
Cotton is a silkie and her baby is one of the feral type chickens around here. The feral chickens are game chickens.
This is a chicken I got from my son's house, the hen had laid her eggs in a bush, and when the eggs hatched the chickies fell out, so I rescued one! Since it was a loner chick, and peeped way too much while in house, it was lonely, I gave it to my silkie who is always broody, she took to it immediately and raised it as her own.

It was about a quarter size in diameter and a bit bloody. I have no idea how bad it is yet.

Ah, let's leave it as under his tail. Not quite sure how I caught that, I guess I just saw all the red. The vet can't make it today, but I'm driving back from Dallas again tomorrow. I was hoping my car would be able to stay at 140K miles for the rest of the month, but I'm pretty sure it'll be at 150K before soon with all these trips to and from Dallas. *Sigh*

but it means I have to do actual work so I don't have as much time to spend with all of you
On Nov 5th I'm going on vacation with Tom, we are flying to New Orleans, meeting up his sister and her husband, the 4 of us are taking a 5 day cruise to Mexico then driving back to her house outside of Nashville for a few days with her family. We'll get home in time to start preparing for the holidays.

Hi Michelle! How goes it on the Northern front?
The Northern front is good. No snow yet, my new beau and some friends are finishing my shed so that it is a useable structure. My chickens are happy and my turkey looks like he's going to be yummy. We are also nearly done fencing our yard for the dogs, I need to spend a little time with my chainsaw this evening to help clear a path. The kids are doing well, mid semester report cards are looking good. I have switched to a new position at work so now I more money
