How is everyone doing?
Yesterday I spent an hour and a half washing my car... twice. Inside and out. To dry it off, I decided to go for a drive to town and back. I kindly invited the dog to go with me, and she hops right in, getting mud all over my front and back seats. *Sigh* Re-cleaned those, cleaned her paws, and went for the drive. It was fun.

And today?
It pours.

I'm doing well.

The rain has stopped here, and now it is suppose to be nearly 80* today.

That is very hot for here.

I'd like for it to be 80*. It was 54* out this morning when I got in the truck. Too cold, Texas, too cold.

Hey, it was 54* when I left for work this morning too, but I was thinking, wow its warm this morning.

And I was thinking, the one week old chicks would be just fine in that temp.
So I put them in their outdoor cage before it was even light out, so they would not stink up the indoor cage I just cleaned last night.

They will get to come back inside this evening and get under their light for the night again though.

That's what I get for waiting so long to order them, but I just couldn't pick the breeds when it came right down to it.

I just noticed, our avatars are kind of similar in content, no? The top of the heads and backs of horses.
Great minds think alike.

Oh yea, the avatar thing!

It reached 81* here today.

I have 19 chickens now. A while back, a rooster showed up in my yard, injured. So DH rescued it and we got him better. Then he started breeding my hens. Well, only some of them because he is a banty and most of my girls are big.
So I let the two silkies set on their eggs, and two hatched.

The last Sunday we went to the feed store. DH had already told me I could not buy chicks since i had hatched some. Well, after I paid for the hay, he was standing by the chickie cage at the store and waved me over.
That was it, they had buff and delawares, both of which I've never had. And he said, 'I don't care' so I ran back inside and paid for 4 chicks!
I got one RIR, one delaware, one buff orpington and one leghorn!

The cuteness is excruciating, boo. I just love that mama and chick interaction.

So adorable! I'd love to let one of my hens raise some chicks, but none seem to have any interest. Oh well. Guess I get to keep the chicks to myself then.

Mine, all mine! Muahahahaha!

I've always kind of wanted a Delaware and/or a BO, but I've never had the room for them. Maybe someday...

It was a beautiful afternoon at the beach playing in the waves in my short shorts!!

DH brought the chairs, I brought the towels.

And can you believe I didn't bring my camera?!!

That's bad photography!

aw man boo...it's too cold here to think about wearing shorts...sigh....cold cold cold...ready for spring...not summer....just spring for now will do.
