I have only had to use first aid, and mine leans toward geriatrics and it was kid that split his shin, of all places, about as deep as it could go. AWFUL!

I don't know if this is ok to do, so sorry if I am bothering anyone, but I have a hen that is sick right now and no one has replied to my post about it, and I just wanted to know if anyone on here would have a suggestion, she doesn't really have any energy doesn't want to move, but can if encouraged, her comb is flopped over, very green poop, been like this about 2 days or so, I have her seperated.....any suggestions?

Last night for the anniversary we went out to a Mexican place. Food was pretty good for this part of the country.

Tonight we went to town to get the part for the dryer, a file for the chainsaws, and fuel for the tractor, lawn mower, and emergencies. Since we were in town and it was late afternoon we went out again. This time to a Thai place we discovered behind the mall. Pretty good. Lots of leftovers in the fridge now.

Keep her separated. Give her some yogurt and make sure she is drinking. Without more details there isn't much more you can do.


I have her seperated I will definatly try the yogurt, she is eating and drinking, just very sluggish about it. I have one other chicken that recently prolapsed, and am now worried that maybe this one has an egg stuck...not sure how they act during this. I let her soak in a warm bath which she seemed to like, and gave her a little childrens motrin, also bought some calcium powder mix stuff to add to her feed, but not sure if it is even that....just feel so helpless, would bring her to a vet but no vet around here cares to even look at chickens and don't know much about them anyways, feel like other chicken lovers would be more helpful. If it is egg binding...how long should I allow her to sit before I do something different?

I agree with the egg bound thing. Reach under her to the backend of her breast bone, toward her tail, and the feel all around going back up toward her face. You will be able to feel an egg if there is one there.
