Garden will not be planted out until Good Friday, except for my onions and turnips. They are doing well. All of my pepper and tomato plant seedlings are strong and ready to be planted into garden.

Evening tex, how's the fire ants today?

Ants are not normally a problem for me anymore. I have learned to just stir them up a few times a day if I have an anthill in my garden. They hate that and normally leave by day two. I've had em leave the first day

Now I'm curious, what's the delay? Does Texas still get cool in the evening this time of year?

My area has an average last frost date on March 16th (today as a matter of fact). Now it rarely ever happens but I dont like to take chances in that area. So, I start some seeds inside and gradually bring them outside (called hardening off) until they are used to living outside. If there is danger of frost that evening or morning I bring them in. This current crop has not been back inside for more than two weeks.

Plus, Good Friday (April 2nd this year) is about the time that soil tempatures start staying above 60 in the evenings which a lot of crops like (okra being a good eggzample).

I just drove my first manual.

Not. Fun.

I hate jeeps, I hate jeeps, I hate jeeps... (It was a 1999 Jeep Wrangler on a lift kit. Not only is it a manual, it's the bounciest car you will EVER ride in. Absolutely awful.)

My favorite car ever was my old jeep. Big knobby tires, lift kit, full roll kit and 5 point harnesses so you couldn't fall out of your seat. I had it in some pretty interesting places going over some pretty big obstacles.

I really miss that jeep.

I LOVE my moms Chevy Silverado, but hate to drive it...look like it's gonna take up the whole road
