Walked out to the chicken coop this morning and of course, since the girls are molting (SP?), the ground is littered with feathers. More like walking on a mattress than the ground, if you ask me. But then I see my girls. Cleo, my sassy little hen, has NO tail feathers whatsoever. She looks like an araucana... I'm going to take some pictures soon.

Pretty much. I am up at 2, 4:30, 6 and then on.

I don't envy you...


But then I see that cuteness and I go, "Awwwwww!"
I was in Barnes and Noble last Friday night and this father had little twins that were really young. He put one down so he could look at a book and the baby started crawling around a bit. I saw it and smiled and his/her (couldn't really tell. They were in yellow!) little face let up, he/she let out a giggle, and made a bee line for me. I can't help but laugh a little as this little child laughs and laughs as it speed-crawls towards me. The dad looks up and smiles and then follows the kid. Then the mama showed up and picked up the baby and by the end of it, we're all giggling just like that little baby. *Sigh*
It was cute. Oh so cute.

I have this annoying habit. The wife hates it.. the family is amused. Today was another BBQ (yesterday I threw one, today my dad did) Wife gave me the baby (who's teething btw) so she could go to the bathroom. He promptly quit fussing after chewing on my pointer finger and fell asleep in my lap. Somebody had already put in ice age 2... so I was watching the nutty squirrel (of course) .....

Next thing I know there is like 40 people walking past the lay-z-boy that I fell asleep in. Baby starts squirming and I realize folks are throwing plates, napkins and utinsels away. While I slept they cooked, ate and started in on desert before I woke up. Of course they left me pretty hefty portions on the plate cuz it was too cute... Fat dad n chubby cuddly baby sleeping while watching cartoons and sawing logs... PS, nobody else stayed in the TV room
