Friesian Fowl Q&A Discussion Thread

are you saying you found someone in the States that has them. i found someone in Kentucky, but i was wondering if this is the same person or someone else.

Yes they were in Kentucky, likely the same person. Beggar-ticks Farm I think was the name. I plan to get some chicks in the spring from them.

cool. thats the same person i got mine from but i dont have any currently though. the weather here is horrible especially when it rains. i also plan on getting some chicks when the weather gets better.

when do they start laying? if i had a trio of lemon pencil what are my chances of getting one of the other colors or will i just get lemon pencil?

Chamois pencilled is the most common colour, then silver and gold and the others like blacks etc are very rare. They are good layers and start laying at about 21 weeks if conditions are right.

Do any of you breed these guys? Would love some but would be unable to breed them.

I am in Kentucky and I have Friesians. The Lemon Pencilled (or Chamois) although I do have one gold hen . My flock produces gold and lemon pencilled. I should be ready to start selling eggs very soon.

Yes. I just bought several of her breeds. She's a good friend of mine.
