Frightful is doing AWESOME!!!
I watched her scarf down 3 mice right away when we got there. She is NOT bashful baout eating in front of an audience, unlike most of the other birds they have right now. I helped clean her cage and she flared at me a little then. I didn't think about it until later, but I was wearing the jacket she was caught with (it had been washed, of course). Don't know if she remembered that coat or not LOL.
I cleaned several cages, including hers. I weighed out frozen mice & such for their next meals. It was cool. I will go back.
In all liklihood Frightful has a mate somewhere in my area. The palce I'm thinking about releasing her would be perfect, so I'm going to work on getting permission to release her there from my friends. It will probably be 6-8 weeks before she can be released. First they will build up her body mass, then move her to an even larger cage to make sure she has good flight skills, and good hunting skills. It is expected that she will pass these 'skill tests" with no problem, given her current behaviors.
Me & Frightful having what my daughter called a staring contest:
