Frizzle Marans?

Yes there is such thing as a frizzle maran. I saw one on feathersite. The first one and the sitting one in the second pic are definitely frizzles.

I bred my golden cuckoo marans roo to my blue splash hen. I got all barred chicks EXCEPT one. It appears to be a wheaten colored chick. Seemed odd to get that color...but now it has curly feathers. Curiouser and curiouser!

I think I might have a frizzle marans too. Here she is:

Is she? She has a single comb, and a few foot feathers.

What a fetching hen Zaxby's2! I am hoping the person who originally posted will post with updated pix.

Go, Dawgs!

Here is one of mine. Turns out he is not a wheaten...he has gold barring (father is a golden cuckoo). Hopefully you can see the feathers well enough - he is dreadfully slow feathering up.

All of these chicks seem to be incredibly slow feathering. I have found two more that I am sure are frizzled. As they get some feathers I will post.

I'm hoping she's a maran, I really want some dark eggs. I guess we'll know when she lays an egg!
