Recently my EE cockerel has started at least attempting to breed. He is young. Hatched at the end of January.
I have a bantam frizzle hen which he may have bred.
question is what could I potentially get if I decide to incubate these eggs in the future?
I’ve read frizzle can be a 50/50 chance and since her eggs are a light/medium brown I’m assuming the egg color of their potential offspring will be brown as well?
Any info for my curious mind would be grateful!

I also have a Legbar cockerel that has not began breeding yet. I have a good variety of hens. My main focus in the future would be getting some interesting mixes as well as some green layers. Any info on this would be appreciated as well!

My EE Roo was also hatched around that time and he has been breeding/fertilizing our 14 same age hens for a very long time. As for the offspring egg color, im no expert, but since he is an EE and she lays light brown eggs, im assuming since the chicks will also be EE, they really can lay any color eggs, but more than likely a shade of green. That is assuming the EE Roo throws the typical EE green color. He could be a mystery and could throw any color egg gene really. It really is a mystery without keeping their offspring and actually seeing which color the offspring lay.

Thank you!
I thought he was breeding a little early. He hasn’t even starting crowing yet! Every morning when I let them out into the run he finds a girl to breed right away.
So far it’s been my EE hen, Light Brahma and now Bantam Frizzle.
I’ll guess I’ll have to do a mystery hatch and see what I get.

Yes I thought so too from what I’ve read online. It’s definitely all about it now though. Early bloomer? Haha
