Frizzle roo or pullet?

Yeah I was guessing age by the last picture that said "a few days after they came home". So if you've had them for 3 weeks, then yes they are about 6 weeks old now. :)

But crowing at 6 weeks? That's a new one to me. I've never had one crow that early!

Yeah with your ten hens, these two roos should be just fine with no fighting. They will need to work out which one is more dominant, and which is more submissive, and they VERY RARELY cause damage from doing that, especially when they grow up together. But aside from that, you shouldn't have any problems.

I have an alram clock that crows and when I come downstairs (They are still in a pen in my mud room) I peek in and there he is strutting around making this God awful strangled noise!! I wish I could record it...I am going to keep trying. But I know he can hear that alarm and I think he is trying to immitate it !!

Yeah six weeks is super early. If that was the norm we wouldn't have these sorts of threads lol

I'm having the same problem : ) I thought my frizzle was a roo but it seems to be taking care of the babies like a hen. What do you think.. Roo or pullet? Approx 8 weeks?

Thank you so much! It's hard to tell, they change so much in such a short amount of time. Do you know if its normal for a roo to be taking care of babies? He/she has 3 babies under her in the pic above.

Don't know to be honest but our littler chicks used to crawl under our biggest chick at that age and she tolerated them and our little silkie used to crawl under anyone sat still including our young rooster. So it may be less mothering and more tolerating lol

The verdict is in...at a little over 8 weeks, I have finally caught Titan and TILLY crowing...guess they are twin brothers after all, although (TILLY) now Zeus, is larger in size but definitely behind in comb and wattle development. Here's to the frizzle brothers may they live in peace!!!:D
