Frizzle Rooster

Hello,

I hatched this frizzle rooster from a mixed flock.

Can anyone guess what mix he is? He is about 6 months old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The roosters I have that could be his daddy are a pure brabanter, black bantam cochin or a silkie mix.

My guess would be the silkie cross frizzle! Not 100% though

What are the options for the mother? I think he is out of the Brabanter. Color, crest, and leg color points to Brabanter.

Frizzle is a dominant gene, so if there is only one frizzle in the flock, it is the parent. So if the only frizzle is the silkie mix, then he is the father.


if there is a frizzled hen, I agree brabanter is likely the father.

Oh, I forgot, I do have a frizzle bantam cochin hen. She is red....So do you think she is the mother and Jake the brabanter is the father?
The silkie mix rooster is not a frizzle.
