Frizzle, Silky or Poor Breeding RIR?

non of his kids would have silkie feather unless one hen where related to him i did hear of silkie gene red cochin poping up in a closed flock

The only way to get a silky is to breed a related roo and hen that both have the silky gene? I will search the forum and see what I can learn about them. Thanks

Ohhh...

So I breed Curly to a regular hen ...then breed him back to his daughters. Line breeding that can easily get out of two-headed control? LOL

Thanks!

most breeder that show any animal line breed dogs cats rabbits chickens u name it they line breed it to keep quailtys

Well, as long as it is done right it is fine. Its when people begin heavy inbreeding that problems occur. I was just imagining breeding him to his daughters, then granddaughters and never getting new blood in there. Hence the two-headed chickens, hehe. Hey, they'd sell! Two-headed silky RIRS. Ohh, and double the fuzzy butts too. hehe

when i raise chicks i alway line bred to there daughters and then through in new blood one in a while
