Pics
This is Randy my red frizzle banty cochin rooster, he loves all the ladies no matter what size..lol...
as you can see he has his favorite big or full size girl...Just hatches some of his babies ut and are getting the coolest frizzles ive ever seen...will post pics asap...

MacCana- I'd go ahead and finish the bag, waste not, want not and all that.
Lots of people do feed layer to their ornamentals, and they don't seem to have an issues with it. I just don't, because I figure they can take the calcium they need from the oyster shell. A 10lb bag of shell lasts me a really long time. A bag of layer, not so much. You could probably even mix the layer and starter/grower ration if you want to.

I think what it really boils down to is personal preference :)

Rescued this fellow at a small animal sale. He has been badly pecked and plucked. New feathers are growing in.
He is terrified of people but in time his feathers will grow back and he will get use to me.

I have him in the garage but my husband was working in there today and one of my young free range roosters stayed and hung out with him. So now he will be stuck in there as well for the duration of the quarantine.
Once he is ready and I know healthy I will put him with my extra mixed females for some frizzle chicks.

He has random grey feathers do you think he might be a splash? Either way he should fill out nice, only time will tell.

Aaaaw, poor little guy! Kudos to you for rescuing him

I have one Frizzle hen and was hoping for more. My last hatch, due to postage issues with the eggs, only two hatched, one was a Frizzle but sadly both turned out to be roosters (no roosters allowed here).

So, I have tried again, 5 eggs hatched and look what we have ... got everything crossed that we have a girl this time!

(s)he had a big day and was very tired! :)

Good luck to you on your frizzle chick being a girl. The guy in my avatar was thought to be a girl for the longest. Everyone was sure he was a she since he looked like he had a dress with a white petticoat on. He was the best rooster ever. He was every bit as faithful to me as any dog.

Well Spazz is doing well ,thinking he might be a Delaware mix frizzle. I am incubating some eggs I got at the same auction I got him at.
Any pullets from that will be put in a pen with him when they are big enough.
I am also hatching a bunch of my free range hens eggs so he won't be lonely to long.

What % will hatch out frizzle when I breed him to none frizzle?

Hey everyone. Here's an updated picture on my Polish cuckoo frizzle that I was in question about as far as gender goes. I posted pics of (s)he a while back and was told it may be too early to tell. I have the creeping feeling I have a roo on my hands. I also felt it's legs today, and there are little nubs where spurs are developing. Idk if hens in this breed grow them also or not. My male silkie doesn't have spurs at all so idk what to think about the spurs coming in. Any help, insight, or guesses are appreciated.

Sorry, the pics could be better. It was so daggum bright outside today, I couldn't see the screen of my phone, so I turned the camera to take pics from the "selfie" angle and did the best I could. If you need a full body shot I'll see what I can do about taking one tomorrow. Normally, I can tell but I don't know what to look for in the comb/wattle department when it comes to these polish. I'm still new to having the breed. Thanks guys & gals
