You know SonRise,,,I wasn't even looking for one when I got him...didn't want a rooster even though I was intrigued with silkies/frizzles.. This one was a gag gift to my hubby because he is NOT a chicken person! I took him and took care of him...let him free range after a little while....fixed a barrel with some straw in it just for him which he loved! I told those kids he was shy and would not come to them when they ask if they could hold him...they were teenagers for heavens sake and they had never been to my house. Where are their manners? You are right, I have learned a hard and sad lesson but it won't happen again. I will not have another rooster unless it happens to be a sizzle. I am about 75% restricted in my ability to be greatly active but love to just go sit with the peeps and talk to them. He even gave me great pleasure when I had to be inside in my chair. I still sit here looking for him. I know in my head that something got him but my heart is still hoping to see him !You
So sorry about Mr Sizzle. I know how you must feel. i get so attached to birds,[or any other critter] it's hard enough to sell one, let alone lose one!![]()
NEVER allow anyone to mess or harass your birds. I know i must seem mean and nasty but I don't let folks in with my bids and if they are free ranging I speak loud and clear about kids chasing them or trying to pick one up.
You learned the really hard way that while the kids come and spend a few minutes amusing themselves and then leave, you have to pay the consequences for ever.
I sympathize with you. Pray that you will find another sweet bird to maybe fill that huge gap in your heart that Mr. Sizzle has left.![]()
definitely a red. You will love your frizzle!!!Is she going to be red? First time frizzle owner here!
