Hi all...This is our 8 week old Frizzle... Night Shine. Everyone calls her "the sickley" one because they compare her to all the others who are super filled out and gorgeous. She/he looks a lot better than 3 weeks ago though...getting more big bird feathers in every week. . poor thing. She is the sweetest little chick...just loves people. Any ideas...of what type she/he is and the gender. Sometime she will get really red in the face when stressed but most of the time her face is like the photos here. When she is bright red when stressed she looks like she may be a roo but when back to normal coloring she looks like she could be a pullet. Any thoughts? Also type? Thanks a bunch!!!

If HE were mine I'd call him a rooster! Cute!

I have to ad though that I have what I think is a red pullet and she/he/it does the same thing...gets real red when stressed.
Everyone picks on it too.
I have to keep it penned alone or with some chicks. I STILL think mine is a hen and yours is a roo!

I say pullet. My boys are 4 months and have very large combs for their size. Congrats. I always end up with males. I still love them. they are the only roosters that I will keep

SonRise... Oh wow ours look a lot a like. I think yours is a pullet...and mine at 2 months does have larger headgear ...the color just throws me...I expected it to be red like my other roo. I cant wait until mine is more filled out like yours...they are so pretty...but look scraggly younger. All the others pick on mine too...it hides under the roo.

Later on I will get a pic of the Red rooster, he is just real young also but definitely a roo.
He is OOOOGLY though, he is a Frazzle, always looks like he was drowned or freshly oiled!
Nice fellow though!

I have a tiny little MF D'Uccle, she is really tiny for her age, she lives peaceably with the red roo, a picked on red frizzle pullet, and a silver laced cochin bantam pullet that also is picked on.

It's sort of a pen for the bullied. Red Frazzle watches over them all.
Good boy!

Sonrise...What kind is the black and white one in the background of the frizzle pic? My son saw that one and loves it...now wants one. Sigh--- :) maybe we can wrangle a female...our 1st 3 were roo's (so far as we know)...I guess we weren't to good at choosing.

Now maybe we can have a better idea what we are looking at...and maybe I wont let my son pick the

next ones. Im learning to spot them much quicker now
