What breed are your frizzles? Serama.Sizzles? If they're Sizzles, they'll carry a gene for Silkie feathers (which are recessive, so two copies are needed) and you'll get Silkies and Sizzles from them (regular Silkies, frizzled Silkies, regular Sizzles, frizzled Sizzles). If your frizzles are some other breed that doesn't carry a hidden gene for Silkie feathers, none of the chicks will be Silkies. They'll all be hard feathered. But, you could breed them back to a Silkie to get shredded feathers again.
I hope that all makes sense
It doesn't really matter whether your roo or hens are frizzled. I keep a Silkie rooster over frizzled Sizzle and Silkie hens in one pen, and a frizzled Sizzle rooster over smooth Sizzles and Silkies in the another. Both pens make lots of frizzles.
After numerous tries, I have my first frizzle chick from my frizzle hen. will post a picture when I can.
Oh my gosh! It's so cute and tiny!!!!
