Frizzle thread

Here's one of our new 10 day old Belgian D'uccle chicks, the rest are lovely little fluff balls of adorableness, but this one is well... Like this. Her feathers feel soft, not brittle at all. Frizzle or just funky? I'm hoping frizzle

Can anyone tell me what a smooth frizzle is? Or better yet, does anyone have a pic?
I know nothing about the breed, but my daughter has been begging and a lady is selling "smooth" ones.

I don't feel that the feathers have grown out enough to be sure it's a frizzle. Good luck.

Does this little partridge Silkie chick look like he might be frizzled? He's 8 days old and I just noticed the wings look different today.

Yes. The wing feathers do look to be a frizzle. Another week and you'll know for sure.

Thanks! He's something else. Very vocal, and just a pudge. He's also got beautiful feet. I'm actually hoping he's a cockerel. lol

Has your bird always been like this? She doesn't look frizzled, she looks like she's very sick.
