I am getting silkie hatching eggs. The dad is a satin that is frizzled so is that called a sizzle? Then the mom is a normal silkie showgirl. So I know that the chicks will be a mix of silkies and showgirls that are frizzled with the silkie feathering (frizzled silkie I think it’s called??) and frizzled satins, and normal satins. My question is that if I take the frizzles that are the silkie feathering frizzle and I breed them to normal silkies, what would I get out of that? Also just some other knowledge on these funky feathering uses would be great! Thanks in advance!

Silkies with frizzled feathers are called frizzled Silkies. Satins with frizzled feathers are called frizzled Satins. Sizzle is the old name for Satins & isn't used any more.

If you breed a Silkie to a frizzled Silkie, all the chicks will be Silkies with about 50% regular & 50% frizzled.

All of your Satins can be bred to each other but really best to breed back to nice Silkies to continue breeding out the Cochin traits that might still pop up from the original breeding to a frizzle Cochin. Satins bred to each other only will likely continue to have Silkie feathered chicks continue to show up. And Satins bred to Silkies will produce both breeds & if one of the parents is a frizzle, you will get all 4 feather types - Silkie, frizzled Silkie, Satin, & frizzled Satin. The only rule you MUST follow is to NEVER breed frizzle to frizzle. No matter what the breed is, don't breed anything with curly feathers to anything else with curly feathers.

Thanks so much for this informative reply! I am new to the frizzle breed and just learned a ton from you. I thought my frizzle was a silky frizzle but I think it's a satin frizzle instead? Here's a picture. Lmk! I also bought an Easter egger frizzle recently here a pic... Is it really an Easter egger frizzle? frizzles are absolutely adorable.
