I'm looking for some explanation and help on genetics for breeding. I have a frizzled silkie rooster and several pure silkie hens. I'm wondering what the results would be if I'm breeding them together. Would I end up with frizzled silkies, silkies, frizzles? I had a couple I've hatched though tested fertility but I never kept them for very long. I could tell some were frizzling once they lost their chick fluffs.

He doesn’t look very frizzled to me. Can you post a side shot?
If he is indeed frizzled or more appropriately Sizzled (Frizzled Silkie), then when bred to regular Silkie hens half of the offspring will be frizzled and half will be normal Silkies.

Sorry, he's blue now. It was a long and boring winter lol.

Sizzle x Silkie = 50% Sizzled and 50% Silky Progeny, the Frizzle gene is kind of lethal in homozygous form(at least in cold climate)

Recent studies of Homozygous Frizzled laying eggs, they outperformed their Heterozygous counterpart and the normal feathered counterpart by a large margin in very hot climates

Excerpt: "The adaptive effect to heat of the frizzle gene has been underestimated because it has mainly
been studied in its heterozygous form. In this paper, we have shown that the frizzle mutation
in laying hens has a positive effect on adaptation to high temperatures, but this effect is
detectable only when it is present in the homozygous form (FF). Therefore, chicken breeds
fixed for the F allele should be more suited for poultry production in hot countries"
