Hi guys
Ive currently got 8 bantams eggs under my broody hen 3 are PIPPING YAY

The mum is a frizzle and dad is a straightfeathered frizzle.

Its been years since ive bred chickens and cant remember, can you tell straight away (once they are all fluffed up) if they are frizzles???

Also is the possibility of frizzles from this cross 50% frizzle 50% straight

Thanks

I don't remember the percentage but do know you can tell if they are frizzled about day 4 or 5 when wing feathers start coming in

Thanks Krista I thought I remembered it being quite soon. Hopefully will get a few out of my new chicks.

Does anyone know the percentage I thought it was 50/50 but as dad is a straightfeathered frizzle I was hoping the odds might be higher

Thanks so much for the reference picture....I have about 40 eggs in the bator most of which are supposed to be frizzle chicks...It is nice to know what they are suposed to look like. I will keep everyone posted as ours hatch! They are due.....Day before Halloween! How cute to get little fuzzybutts in time for halloween!
