We have 10 three week old chicks that have been doing just fine in a pack n play brooder, but they're getting so big! I sent my husband an Amazon link to a tent and he said "hold on, I have a 3 person tent in the garage that I've only used once." Say less! I could easily fit several more birds in here, but I think they're going to love the extra space until it's coop time.

Great idea! How did your tent work out for your chicks over time? I have our second batch of chicks arriving this week. Our first was 5 years ago, so I'm a little rusty. Last time, we graduated our girls to a dog crate, but it was still a bit small. I was considering an old 2-person tent we have when they outgrow their initial brooder (a 40-gallon tub) until I can move them outside. They will be closed up in our shop in whatever I use until then.

I’m not the thread starter, but I keep pet quail in “pop-up” bed mosquito nets, and they are very cheap and definitely work well!!!

We did this ourselves! The chickies were flying out of the huge kiddie pool. Our makeshift “roof” was a pain to put on and take off for every (frequent) water change. Ours all seem to want to seek out pooping in it and kicking shavings in there. If we didn’t have 4 rapid growing crosses with some kind of meat bird in them, the tent would’ve been perfect for quite a few chicks. (We put the crosses along with a feisty cochin cockerel back into the kiddie pool - they don’t fly out so it works great so everyone has enough space) We even cut out the mosquito netting in hunks at the top to help a little extra with ventilation and it made a noticeable difference. Heck, made it easy to lift the feeders/waterers in and out too!

They grow so fast! What precious chicks. 🥰💙 So cool y’all already had it on hand too. Talk about meant to be!
