I think you'll be thanking your-self for that path for years.

Hope so. This area is a low spot and usually muddy all spring and all fall.

Nice paving stones. I plan to do something like that around my run when it's finished with bricks we have on hand.

Thank you. Now if I can get the sand covered with top soil to discourage the cats from digging it all up as a giant litter box!

I have just spent the last 2 days on and off reading this whole post and loving it, I will be keeping an eye out for updates on your little flock. Congrats on completing such a big project, you have done an amazing job :D

Figured out why they didn't like Meal worms. Anything that is dropped above their heads into the run they will not fight over. BUT if you bring it down to their eye level instant game of keep away!

Still waiting on a back ordered item to complete the coon surprise...

Ahhh, yes. I remember this happening with younger birds in my flock. Because I really like hand-feeding, I had forgotten about the "dropped from above" fears.

I am also eagerly awaiting The Coon Surprise.

nice paving job!!

I agree don't give up on the treats..Mine go nutzo over dried mealworms, I just toss them around and they go crazy digging for them:)

Funny tho, I decided to try strawberries since they are bloodthirsty little suckers and are attracted to 'red'...so I cut up some small pieces put them in their favorite aluminum bowl, (I give them crumble mash they go bonkers over in this bowl so when they see it coming they think it's something great in it:) The chickies are going crazy cause the "bowl is coming", I set it down, they go to dive, and stop dead,,they all froze, you could hear a pin drop..They are standing around the bowl, not daring to move, kinda looking at each other , at me like "what is THIS?"...so i pick pieces up, no go,,it must be POISON! LOL..

Tried the same thing with watermelon, and they go crazy for that...Go figure!

Tomorrow will be there first big adventure outside should be interesting:)
