Lmao. Well I do have a black australorp. Also Kithara has tons of colors? Hook is a rir silkie mix. She has a variety.
Ok, so you have black covered, Kithara can be your fun color attempt, I wouldn't use Hook with that beak plus he doesn't have a color you can know about.

Snape chases the girls, tries to mount them etc. Hook doesn't. He wing dances but they run so he just shrugs it off. He just does opposite of Snape. He doesn't herd the flock. He kinda hangs back. Doesn't walk with any of the ladies either. Just seems like he is more of a laid back fella.

As for the other bachelors. What are some good ideas? Hook free ranges wherever he feels like. Should I do that for the other babies? Cept maybe build them a house for nighttime? I don't want them to get killed though.

Hmm, interesting. Maybe they have somehow established who the breeder male will be? As per Shadrach's article, the wing dance is nothing of the breeding sort, it actually is a herding shuffle, something my observations have backed up, since no female I have ever had has squatted after said move, nor has any male mounted right after performing it. These seems to be beneficial for you, since there won't be two males competing for the same position. Although Hook is going through a lice infestation at the moment, which very well could hinder his spirits. As for the extra males, I'd seriously suggest no interaction between them and the females. If you free range the boys, then they'll be together with the girls, and you've got too many boys in your hands. Keep them all together in a different coop, or have them free range, but keep the females in their coop along with Snape

No offense, but I'm not sure what you are talking about. The wing-dance is used to impress females, just as any other bird species would have the males showing out for the females because they want to breed. All of the hens I have seen immediately squat for a wing-dancing male, unless they are high in the pecking order and do not wish to show such a weakness of submission.

You are free to read the article for yourself, and I have already stated my observations. One can also do a quick YouTube search on the matter, and witness that all the females seem to move away from the male as soon as they shuffle. Some males will decide to initiate mating after shuffling (usually inexperienced males), but if one pays close enough attention, one will notice that the mating behaviour exhibited by the male has no connection to the shuffle

I have noticed that the females move away from Phoenix when he dances at them, but for the other males they will squat. It largely depends on their status in the pecking order (if they are higher, then they won't show submission, but the less dominant ones are easy to breed—hence why I see sick, injured, and generally low-ranking hens getting bred a lot more) and if they actually like the male who is trying to impress them.

I have already stated my observations. No female, no matter her rank, will squat after being shuffled here. I have also seen no evidence that proves otherwise across any video platform. I do not wish to agrue with you on this, but my observations have been very clear
