From egg to chick!

Yall. I need some help and advice. Kithara wandered back. I thought it would be fine putting him, (I am thinking she is a he), back into the run would be fine. He was only gone like 4 days. Well they immediately all started chasing and pecking him. I immediately took him out of there and brought him inside for a nice warm meal and some water. His feet are scratched up but no other injuries. Currently he is enjoying some scratch and oatmeal mix. He has water, and had some celery.

How do I integrate him back into the fold? Neighbors obviously don't care bc I have seen him wandering for 2 days but it was on their property. He came back on mine sooooooooo 🤷🏼‍♀️

Introducing a single bird (back) into the flock is hard, but it can be done. Kithara is male. Are you sure you want to keep him? If your home will not be his permanent home, I suggest skipping the introduction, keeping him with you until you find him a good home

Only photo I have of this little one's comb. I really need to figure out which baby this is so I know their name ❤️
That's a hard one, I'm seeing both a pullet and a cockerel but I'll go for pullet. The body shape overall reminds me of a pullet, and I see a lot of rounded feathers, but then it has pointed hackles and it looks like slightly pointed saddles. I'm not going to count the random red feathers on the chicken's wing bows; while that usually means a cockerel, my Easter Egger hen, Willow, has red feathers on her wing bow like a cockerel would, which is strange.

Yeah. This one is a tough one. They are barnyard mixes and I have ZERO idea what DNA they have going on.

I kinda do simply bc his colors are gorgeous. Though I know 3 roos might be tough. One isn't even ours! He is the adopted stepchild. But he hips over the fence like it's butter. He also coos and dances at me. I keep telling him wrong species but I don't think he has noticed yet. Told hubs he had a contender for my affections. 🤣

I also don't know anyone who wants him since he is looking like a roo. No one who won't eat him that is. 😞 Anyone near SC wanna come take him?

Nice area to lay eggs in. Made a nest. Nope. Olivia laid an egg by the bottom left corner of the roost bar in the second photo. And it is a weird color too. Like it has olive on it, but it has a bright spot.

Nice! Keep a fake egg or two in the box to lure them into wanting to lay there. They love to lay where they think others have too.
