She is doing wonderfully. She doesn't care to be touched or held. She is too fabulous for that.

Pretty sure Dolly is staying a she.

If I'm seeing that right, it looks like Dolly has female-specific feathers but the picture is a little dark. She looks like a pullet anyway from all of those feathers. And beautiful feathers, at that!

Judgement on these two babies? We know Pelican is a boy (the one on the left). At least I'm pretty sure, but what about the other one?

Pelican is a cockerel and I'm not sure about the other one.

For sure a cockerel. Don't let the feather's sheen fool you, all black chickens will have a sheen on their feathers no matter their gender because black tends to sheen the most than other colors. I know all of my black chickens have very vibrant sheens. My Rhode Island Red Bantam, Ruby, has red feathers that look practically purple due to the sheer amount of violet sheen.

For sure a cockerel. Don't let the feather's sheen fool you, all black chickens will have a sheen on their feathers no matter their gender because black tends to sheen the most than other colors. I know all of my black chickens have very vibrant sheens. My Rhode Island Red Bantam, Ruby, has red feathers that look practically purple due to the sheer amount of violet sheen.

Snape has a gorgeous green sheen to his feathers. He is gorgeous. I need to take me an updated rooster pic. He has gotten so big since we got him about 6 months ths ago.

No thank you, I have enough already! One Cochin/Ameraucana hybrid who mounts his hens sideways but makes up for his unfortunate attempts by having the sweetest personality; some kind of either hatchery quality Dutch Bantam or Old English Game Bantam/Dutch Bantam hybrid that would do anything to get far away from me; one Cochin Bantam who is scared at the world and screams at anything he sees; one Buff-Laced Polish who will need rehoming due to liking the hens too much; and one Speckled Sussex who keeps dropping his wing at me.

Do you see that I have enough going on for me now?

I'm not sure what that is about, but Orchid (the Speckled Sussex cockerel I mentioned) certainly does wing-dance at me for aggression. He hasn't attacked me but he would have if I didn't repeatedly put my boot up to his chest every time he got too close. He doesn't like me or Slate (the Cochin cockerel I also mentioned) so when I am holding Slate and come anywhere near Orchid, he's going to raise his hackles at me, slowly drop his wing and try to get close enough to attack my leg.

I need to get a video of it. Professor Snape has been following me closely lately. Like if I am walking around he will run up when I'm not looking, but when I see him he will start pecking the ground. I hope he isn't gonna attack bc I will lovingly shove his face in the dirt real quick.

As for Captain Hook, my neighbor's roo and my adopted baby, he coos at me, then prances towards me with his head lowered. Like a little cha cha side step dance. It's honestly cute. But same for Hook. He tries to attack? Face full of dirt. With love of course.
