From egg to chick!

Pics
My girls appear to be avoiding the boys as well 🤣 how am I supposed to hatch eggs if they stick to their independent ways?

The Tsouloufati hens (not sure about the pullets) seem to be getting bred by Kolovos, their male. They have the strongest bond amongst all my groups. The mix breed bantams won't let Lady Gaga the serama get close to them, since they're not done with chick rearing. The serama pullets have no male, although I did place Lady Gaga in with them for a few minutes, and while they enjoyed his company (they were raised together, and seek him out) they did not breed. The brahma hens occasionally let Big Red mount them, although they don't lay at all, just like the serama

Maybe. Snape really wants some wives. 🤣 When do I need to worry about the little cockerels I have trying to strut their stuff? I assume a little while since they are only 11ish weeks old.
Each one will be different, some mature faster than others, 15 weeks or so you'll likely see a change. Maybe sooner, maybe later.

Atropos
Dolly Parton
Izzy

Here are some other babies. Look at how grown they are looking now. Also. Dolly also has RBF. 24/7.

I'd say in a month or so, you may start encountering some problems. Best to get the males you don't want into their new homes before then

So find homes for the bachelor babies in the next couple weeks? Not many people care for cockerels. Cept for food. Might keep them as free rangers for the back yard? Would have to let them get bigger though and build a bachelor roost out back?

Idk what to do about them yall. Keep em and free range em somehow? Sell em?

Right? Idk how successful pullets are at fertilized eggs compared to older hems, but I am ready to gather a few and see what kind of baby Olivia and Snape make. 😆

About the same, although the first few eggs are usually not fertile. What Tink said. It's not the best idea to hatch pullet eggs, the room in there is limited

Definitely a problem we all run into. Either a bachelor coop or find someone who will buy them, but you may have to give them away. Dinner is always an option, but it's not one I'm good at, so I would have to hope you are ebetter than me at that...

Agreed. Just want them to find homes and not be stew. 😞 Or stick around as free range babies. Tons of woods and everything out here but I would have to build a bachelor area.
