I’m sorry you have to get rid of him, I had to get rid of my boy at 6 months (black bird in my avatar). Please don’t really toss him into the woods though, that’s not fair to him. Try the feed stores near you, many will rehome birds for you.
He is on probation. He hasn't snapped at me again since, but he will be gone next snap. Within reason of course. As long as he isn't being mean.

And I wouldn't just toss him in the woods. Though he would come right back to the yard. (We live right by the woods lol)

Males get those hormone rages once they turn a certain age, and that would be the cause of Snape's uncharacteristic behavior. It is unfortunate that you would have to rehome such a beautiful male.
I have decided to put him on probation bc he is so pretty. He hasn't snapped since, but if he snaps or slams me just to be mean he is gone. I understand a few snaps bc maybe I crossed a line in chicken behavior, but as long as he isn't being vindictive or whatnot.

Grinch is nice so far, and super pretty! I can totally send him and the other boys your way still.

I am thinking it's my Rhode Island Red, Cinnamon. Her face is way more red than it was yesterday.

If not, it could be my Light Brahma, Celestia. Her face has been super red for weeks on weeks.

That looks a little too brown for a brahma, and a little too pale for a RIR. Photos of them would help figure this out, checking pin bones also would. How is Snappy Snape doing?
