Hello. Back in the '70's and '80's I was a Mother Earth News devotee. Too much life got in the way and the homestead never materialized. I am a big supporter of small scale livestock keeping and am encouraging my son to take up the challenge. I have a son and a daughter, 2 current grandsons and a third on the way. One cat shares my company. I have been a semi-pro magician for over 30 years and I played two characters in the court of Queen Elizabeth I at the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Bristol, WI. I look forward to enjoying the info gathered on BYC, and am excited to have found you.

Welcome to BYC! I'm retired as well and just raisin" chickens. Do you have any chickens? If so, what kind do you have?

I thought you looked familiar, when I was dating in' 82 or '83 we went to the Renaissance fair in Bristol.

They also had a famous(?) psychic - her name was Irene, can't remember the last name. She said I was a food service worker - huh? I used to show dogs and had a grooming salon & so on getting everything wrong.

I asked about my boyfriend however, and she said she didn't see him in the picture at all. She said there was "no attachment " there - good guess because I didn't have a engagement ring etc. But she was right that there was no attachment - turned out he was seeing many women and not serious about any of us.

He had been nervously watching while we spoke, and when I came back to him, all the color had gone out of his face. Apparently he thought she told me deep, dark secrets about him and was really freaked out. In my book she was a phoney - I should have gotten a refund.

Sorry to go off on a tangent - my short term memory is non existent but, sure can remember old days. BTW I'm glad you joined the flock.

Afraid not. I live in an urban area not friendly to chickens.
