I have a teenager who says she wants nothing to do with the Hens.
More and more she stops on the way out to school to say HI to them . Or comes in the back yard to saw hi.

Today I have to go to Tractor Supply to get PDZ for the new poop boards. I was explaining the new coop build to her on the way to school this morning. She is sick and really not feeling well but made her go to school as it is Friday.

She says... " Do they have Chicks? I want to go if they have Chicks" o_O In my head I was like, you don't even what anything to do with them?
I explained that this is not the time of year so I doubt they do.

Fast forward an hour I had to call the store to make sure they had the PDZ in stock as it is a 45 min drive. They do. I see on their website that they have chick days. Hmmm :confused:a bit late, maybe it is an old ad. I call and they DO HAVE CHICKS :love

text DD (darling daughter) "Do you feel good enough to go after school today? If so I will wait"

"ya" :eek: I am shocked.
:yesss:

Chicks, chickens, and animals do have a way of bringing us together and lightening a teenager's heart! :wee

I have heard many a powerful story of families restored through these feathered friends. :yesss: Sometimes it's hard work or even heart breaking. But WOW, the opportunity to connect with a teen in some small way is huge! Seems they have it even harder than I remember.

Hope you end up with some little pretties and a more loving and open teen! :pop

They really are irresistible! And not even the most uninterested teen can resist chicks! Or husbands!

My husband has come around to them. He was not happy about them, especially with pooping on the carport when they're out (all of the time) (I do clean it regularly), still not a fan.

I had a day old cockerel I was splinting for spraddle, hubby was watching and assisting said "the chickens not worth all the trouble you go through for them." (In his defense he has come looking for me and found me in the coop gently wiping a chickens butt more than once.)

I put chick in brooder and asked him to watch the little guy while I went to get something to make sure the dogs didn't get near it while I stepped away, came back he was holding AND cuddling it. He checked on the chicks progress each day and was happy to see him back with Mama and siblings.

Now he now sits outside and watches them every evening! He's changing!!! lol!

Best of luck to you and your girl! Please keep us updated!!
