From tool shed to Coop?

Can the floor of my "tunnel" (connecting the coop to the new Run) be made of Hardware cloth? It's length is about 18".

Is the floor on the ground? I'm sure it would be ok my hens walk on top of my grass boxes all day and it's made from that green HC and some of them are 24" x 48" but my new ones are all 12" x 24" with the HC nailed on with fence staples then a strip of wood covers that so there is no sharp edges.

No. Elevated.

How big will tunnel be?
I'd suggest large enough for birds to stand up and wide enough for two to pass.
Of course mesh floor will need to be free of any sharp and pointies.

Update Saturday 9-21:

Good progress today but I'm beat. We got the tunnel to and from the coop done, the top wire mesh installed, and the entire wall with the tunnel covered with wire (sunk in concrete like the other walls). The only thing left to do is install hardware cloth on the entire back wall. I have the horizontal supports done for that wall, and the trench dug to sink the hardware cloth in concrete. Lots of roots there as I dug so right now I feel like I just finished playing an NFL football game.;)

So, tomorrow it's the back wall wire mesh and concrete, then I do have to use some wire ties to connect the 2 spans of HW cloth on the run top, to close the seams nice and neat.

Some pics below of the progress...
