Front sun room made into my new NUGGET NURSERY

I just love this idea! I think the biggest issue with brooding chicks indoors it the shock when they are suddenly in a world with so much excitement. From a solid brooder box, to a busy bustling run. The glass gives the perfect opportunity for them to view the world.
The space is super large, it looks great!
I agree that shavings under the cloth might be a good idea for cushion, or even just a balled up blanket under areas they might fall from.
Only other thing I might make sure of is that they know how to get into the box for heat, and how to get back out. Otherwise, nice work! Great idea!
Thank you. I am checking on them every few minutes and I can hear them if they start to get loud. So far, they seem to be okay. They are reacting to my voice now. When I say "come on babies", they don't run to me, but they meander toward me.
I just want them to be happy and safe.
I do have a safe and secure electric heater in there, where they can not get near it, there is a thermometer on the wall, lower to the floor.
I will place the shavings under the drop. I have them in the barn. It's pouring rain at the moment... I may have to just put blankets or large throw pillows under it until I can get the shavings out.

For that cat tree, I'd take some press and seal and wrap it around the platforms and levels, so the poop doesn't get caked into the carpet. Since its scrap you probably don't care much, but once it becomes a solid layer of poop build up, your going to wish you could clean it easier. ;)
Yes! Great idea. Im on that right now, along with cushion under the drop at the ladder and around the tree.

Also....
I'm sure my peacock and peahen would be a shock to them outside in the run, with no mama to make them feel safe. They can't get inside the run, but they can be intimidating through the wire fencing. I have 2' high, hardware cloth around all of my runs, so no size chick or small juvenile can squeeze through.
The peafowl can look in the windows, and they probably will.

My husband sacrificed that drop for them. We don't mind. I can sweep it off every day as many times as I need to.
I love it... BUT... not all poops are the same. Every so often (1 out of 10, maybe?) a chick will do a special, stinky, sticky, messy poop. In my experience, these do not "brush off". They sink in. You may want to try a tarp, It wipes up easily with a damp paper towel. I used a tent in my guest room and it went well. We had shredded paper on the tent bottom (tarp material) and when the chicks would inevitably uncover the bottom during the endless scratch and peck sessions, the stinky-stickies could be dealt with easily. Cut down on the smell. :)
