Hi Guys,
First time chicken owner and went chicken crazy as a result have tons of different breeds of chickens. I have several roosters kept in a bachelor pen.
This week my Lavender Maran roo’s comb has begun to turn purple/black.
My other roosters with large combs show no issues. Luckily, my boys were all raised together so there is minimal fighting.
Is it possible for one roo to get frost bite and not the others in the same pen? Or is the beginning of something? I don’t see any open sores or wounds.
I will take pictures this afternoon.
