Hi all. Around the holidays when that cold weather was sweeping the nation one of my hens got a little frostbite on her comb despite’s the heat lamp I put in the coop. A couple tips turned black and shriveled up and part of it looks just a touch white/grey. We are going to have another round of cold weather next week and I’m wonder if she’s going to be extra susceptible to more frostbite because of the damaged area? And what can I do to prevent more frostbite? Nothing I’ve read so far is very helpful… my coop is clean and dry, it has plenty of ventilation without being drafty, water is kept outside the coop and I have a red heat lamp up above the roost (out of reach of flappy wings). Any advice?
