Noticed today. It's the only part if his comb that looks like that.

Pictures arent the best but I think his first bite is spreading around the comb very minor and not noticable. Also I believe one of the girls took a chunk of his comb. Probally pecked him to hard or he did it himself by scratching something idk.

Frostbite I think is getting worse. Other hens are picking at his comb causing more trouble. Theres a bubble forming idk if it's a scab or not what can I do? I'm afraid if I put anything on it itll freeze and cause more trouble. Should I bring him inside? Were getting a heater for the coop will it help?

I would leave him in the coop or separate him in a dog crate or pen with food and water. The bubble could be a blister, but leave it alone. No rubbing or massaging the comb, and no creams or ointments on the comb. If you bring him inside, it has to be a cold area, so he stays used to the comb—edited, coop, not crop. This is not a bad case, even though any frostbite seems serious to our own chickens.

So should I set up the heater in the coop? Or will it bother him. Were getting a temp control with it so it doesnt get so hot. And the heater won't be near the roost far from it so there not blasting heat.

It would be fine to put Vaseline on it. Won't hurt the others if they peck at and get a little..it would keep them from wanting to peck again.
