Just to clarify, Neosporin ointment is basically Vaseline (petroleum jelly) with a little antibiotic in it. And sometimes a little pain killer, which is OK to use, by the way, because it's not a "caine" drug. If you happen to have a different brand of ointment, like Bacitracin, it's much the same. The "ointment" part of the name tells you there's petroleum jelly. Unlike the creams, as in Neosporin cream.
