My roo has developed what appears to be severe frostbite on his comb. We have 12 in our flock but the roo has the worst case (almost all of them have some degree of frostbite). Any suggestions on how to treat it?

Put Vaseline on it to protect from further damage. It should slough off on its own but you may need to trim the dead off with sharp scissors. Wound Kote might help but most heal just fine but lose the comb. Oregano essential oil in the water will help their immunity so they don't get a secondary infection. I use Nubiotic 4X Concentrate

Could you post some pictures of your rooster’s comb and wattles? Most of the time I do not treat frostbite of comb or the wattles. Vaseline and other creams can freeze and cause more frostbite. Do not rub or massage the tissue since it will damage it and cause pain. Most frostbite will cause rounding off of the comb tips in a few weeks.
