frozen peas?

Canned ones have been cooked and salt added. You don't want that. Just get the cheapest frozen ones you can find. They defrost really fast, or just rinse with hot water or put into a bowl with hot water. Drain the water when you are ready to serve them up. Be prepared for the famous duck screams.
Today it is hot so I served refrigerated watermelon. They went nuts over it and probably have a slight brain freeze now.

At what age do you start feeding the peas? What else is good to give ducklings in addition to their nonmedicated starter feed? I have 2 muscovy ducklings in the brooder that just hatched this morning. I haven't had ducklings in quit awhile and when I did they were hatched by their mothers outside. This is really exciting! I want to make sure they get the best care.

I wonder if ducks could get brain freeze from eating frozen peas. Why not??? From what I am told never feed ducks or chickens any canned veggies because the salt content is just way to high for them. Fresh or frozen is the way to go. They also lovvvvve broccoli leaves and tomatoes.

I use frozen peas, cooked and mashed and watered down. Lately though I have been making them their own split pea soup. Just plain cooked split peas all watered down.

Melon is a favorite for all the birds. Cooked mashed frozen Green Beans. Green Bean and Zuc leaves from the garden, the little raiders and tomatoes. Carrot peels chopped up or carrot pulp from the juicer is even better. Cucs finely chopped or grated. Chopped Kale, Romain, Turnip leaves. Not so much but Collard or Mustard leaves if that's all I'm offering then well, OK. Ya, they like broccoli almost as well as Kale.
