I thought 'bumping' posts was forbidden on BYC? It is so aggravating to see threads bumped every two hours...if someone's interested, they'll reply!!!!

I haven't noticed bumping but I have seen a lot of flaming going on here lately

Which is also against the rules.

Again, if you see something that violates our rules, use the report button.

We don't read every thread and count on our members to help us out in helping to maintain the friendly atmoshere here at BYC.

*bump*

LOL I'm just kidding. It does get really annoying, especially when:
a) It's not a big deal and the person bumps every 5 seconds
b) when someone else bumps your thread when you don;t want them too! I've had that happen a lot on my contests.

If it's an Emergency and no one's answered after an hour or so and someone's bird is dying then I think it would be OK for someone to sort-of-bump-while-also-supplying-their-best-guess.

This may be allowed, but ONLY IF:

1) The person is replying to their own thread with additional information that will help others help them.

2) It is not excessive (moderators will be the judges).

If members "bump" threads, their bump will be removed, they will be issued a warning, and if they continue they will be bumped off BYC.

Fortunately bumping isn't as big of a problem on BYC as it is on many other popular forums and that's because we've got a community that understands the rules and great moderators that do a fantastic job of enforcing them.
